At the Gender and Inclusion Summit 2024 (#GS24), organized by the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Oxfam proudly showcased our commitment to creating a Nigeria free from inequality and poverty.
Our Goal: To create accountable governance, an economy that is just with gender at the heart of all that we do.
At our booth, we featured interactive exhibits that highlighted our core initiatives:
- Gender Equality Programs: Empowering women through education, vocational training, and leadership opportunities.
- Poverty Alleviation Projects: Community-driven solutions addressing poverty through sustainable agriculture, clean water access, and economic empowerment.
- Advocacy & Policy Reform: Championing policies that promote social justice and reduce systemic inequality.
Visitors explored powerful stories of resilience, where Oxfam’s programs have improved household incomes and strengthened communities against economic and climate shocks.
At #GS24, our team, led by Country Director John Makina, connected with policymakers, organizations, and stakeholders to share insights on sustainable poverty solutions, collaboration opportunities, and innovative approaches to tackling Nigeria’s challenges.
Oxfam’s work is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
- Goal 5: Gender Equality
- Goal 2: Zero Hunger
- Goal 10: Reduced Inequality
- Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
- Goal 13: Climate Action
- Goal 17: Partnerships
As the summit concluded, Oxfam reaffirmed its dedication to breaking down barriers to equality and eradicating poverty in Nigeria. We are inspired by the collective efforts of summit participants and look forward to future collaborations that drive meaningful change.
Join us in our mission to create a Nigeria where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and freedom from poverty.
